Fredericksburg Girls Trip! June 2011

We had so much fun on our trip! I had been looking forward to this for a loooooong time after being out of commission for 9 months of prego-ness and 3 months of mommyhood! I missed Kinley like crazy but it was good to get away for a bit :)
The highlight of the trip was our limo-wine tour! It was the most fun! We became bff's with our driver George and he let us take as much time as we wanted. So, we did! The wine was flowing like water, we couldn't get enough of it.......and we started the party everywhere we went! The cute little town, beer joints and shopping were fun too.....but the wineries were by far my favorite part!

Here are all the girls!

This is out of order but here is Me, Brook & Erin in Luckenbach.

Cheers!

So pretty!

Here are some of the girls tasting at William-Chris Winery. We all fell in love with Chris a little!

This is Tika, she tore Erin's foot up and made her bleed after spotting a lizard she wanted! Woops Tika!

Happy Father's Day

Most of Father's Day for us was spent traveling and trying to get back home from our trips. I felt bad that we didn't get to spend the whole day together but Jay got to be with Kinley and the boys so thats all that matters :)

He is seriously the best daddy every so I wanted to make this Father's day special for him......but thats not easy to do for a guy who is not mushy at all and never mentions anything that he wants.

I ended up mail ordering him a pizza from Lou Malnatis in Chicago. He became obsessed with deep dish pizza when we went to Chicago but we never made it to Lou M's so I thought I'd send him one! Here is a stolen picture from the internet since I forgot to remind him to take a pic. (This actually looks pretty gross to me!)

His other surprise was that I enrolled him in a beer of the month club, seemed perfect for him. Over the past couple years he has become a beer snob and has tried every different kind he can........I've tried and hate them all pretty much :)

Here are the pics they sent me of the proud Daddy with his babies on Father's Day! I love my little family and am so grateful for Jay.....I LOVE watching him with Kinley......he's a natural!

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY 2011!!!!!

House

Today we signed the contract and had to make decisions on the structural things for the house. I was NOT prepared for this and those who know me know that I suck at making decisions as it is......so imagine me under the gun having to decide which brick and stone on a pretty big purchase!.......overanalyzing like crazy!
I had taken this first pic over a week ago because I loved the brick and stone.....and after worrying all day that I wasn't making the right decision, I went with what I loved first. (I'm not mentioning Jay because he didn't really care about this part, left it up to me). So this is the brick and stone combo we went with........

But this is the house model and elevation so picture that brick and stone on here.

We really, really love the neighborhood and the model we chose. It was the same model we walked through over a year ago and fell in love with. There will be plenty of room for kiddos and finally a normal backyard for the boys. I am so glad they still had a few lots left after all this time! Our builder says he expects a November/December closing so hopefully we can be there in time to celebrate Kinley's first Christmas! Until then, we will be living with my parents, eek! (Of course this is all pending our house sells, please oh please!)

Over the next week or so, we'll be heading to the design center to pick out the inside stuff.......I am going to try my best not to look at the upgraded options!

Crazy Summertime!

Oh my goodness our heads are spinning right now, we have been very busy! I really need to be better about blogging my sweet little girls life, I feel like if I don't, I'm going to forget when everything happened. She changes everyday! Since I can't do 50 different posts, I will recap with pictures and captions but here's a little idea of whats been going on with the Jensens lately (in order! :). .........
-We reserved a lot to build on in the neighborhood we've had our eye on for over a year now
-Went crazy and stressed out because there was so much to do to fix up this house........but then had to go out of town
-Kinley turned 3 months old!
-Kinley and mommy had their first weekend away from eachother while daddy went to Oklahoma with her and I went on a girls trip to Fredericksburg (post to come!)
-Jay took the dogs with him and they're staying in Okla while we try and sell the house :( it's awful but would be impossible with them here!
-We celebrated Jay's first fathers day (post to come!)
-We fixed up the entire house in pretty much 2 days, phew!
-We put the house on the market Friday, had a showing Saturday (that was nuts!)
-Went to sign our life away and start the contract on the new house today!

Okay! I'll do another post about house stuff soon but here are some pics of Kinley lately :)

Mommy had her first big mess up.....took a big chunk our of her finger while trimming her tiny baby nails.......babies bleed A LOT!!

We are working hard on tummy time......but she still pretty much hates it and would rather just lay and relax on her belly. I bought her this tummy time mat to try and help.....just one more thing laying around the house!

She can sit in her bumbo pretty good now and takes the BEST pictures in it!

Family swimming pic :)

I snapped these precious pics of K with "puppy". I gave him to her since her real puppies arent here anymore and she loves him! She cuddles and eats him (aka gives him kisses :) So sweet, it melts my heart, I miss my boys baaaaaaad!

3 months old!

All from her first swim, she absolutely loves the water!

I can't believe how fast time is flying and how much of a little person she is becoming. She is smiling almost every minute that she is awake and laughs out loud all the time now.......she even cracks up after she's had a little cough/choke. Everything is hilarious to her! She still loves to stare at her flower toy and is always stuffing it and everything else in her mouth (kinda scary). She also loves to stare at mommy when she does her workout dvd........apparently that is VERY funny looking!

We are rolling all the way over now from back to tummy......but again, don't like it very much when we get to the tummy part!

We go to the doctor in a couple weeks and I can't wait to see how much she's grown. I had to go buy some size 9 months sleep n plays the other day because she's already too long for her 6 month ones, sheesh!

Okie dokie, sorry for all the info but if I don't blog it, I'll forget it!!

Lately

Well somehow little chicken is 11 weeks old today! I can't believe how fast time goes by! Nothing too big is going on around here except for just having fun and being silly with Kinley, she is hilarious and oh so friggin sweet! I keep telling Jay that I can already tell she is going to be so kind hearted when she grows up ( I swear, I can just tell!).....and I think she'll have a pretty funny personality too :)
Here is our mohawk that mommy styled the other night after our bath.....very easy to do with all that fabulous hair.
Hanging with daddy at my "meet Kinley" party in Oklahoma - 10 1/2 weeks.

What a handsome daddy Kinley has :)

She has become obsessed with her zebra rattle, she could just stare at him and talk to him for hours! She loves to look at his face, I think she thinks he's a person.

Apparently she likes things with faces because she has also fallen in love with this flower toy!

This is my new favorite pic of her.......I snapped it on the way home from the farm (aka Grandma Betty's house) about a week ago. Her smile takes my breath away every time! I bought her these little bunny strap covers a couple weeks ago and they are so comfy, she loves them!

Of course Boomies is right by her side......he loves when she's on her playmat because he likes to lick up her spit up, gross! She has started to notice Boomer now and I've caught her smiling at him a couple times :)

While we were in Oklahoma our four legged babies stayed with my parents and got to go swimming in my sisters pool. As you can see, Cash was in heaven. Here he is relaxing on the step after swimming like crazy and running laps around the pool!

Uncle Coby was nice enough to play some ball! He reported that Boomer played for 5 minutes and then was too fat to swim or play anymore after that, big surprise!

I am very excited about taking Kinley for her first swim soon! I can't wait to dress her in her cute little swim suits!

Lovey Love Love :)

OH MY GOODNESS I love this little girl of mine!!
Of course I've loved her since the moment I knew she was in my belly....and then even more once I laid eyes on her.....but the stage that she's entered the past couple weeks have made the love grow even more, like A LOT more..........just when I thought I couldn't love her anymore! She is talking and cooing and smiling allllllll the time and it absolutely melts my heart. I feel like she's a little person now instead of a sleepy newborn. We have been talking back and forth to each other all morning and as we speak, she is sitting in her favorite chair smiling a huge smile and entertaining herself with baby babble! This is just so fun! I don't know how I'll ever be able to drag myself back to work. I wasn't sure if the stay at home mommy thing was for me, but turns out, it is totally me!! I think in the back of my mind I'm pretending like somethings gonna happen to where I don't have to go, ha! Fat chance!

Little chicken turned 2 months old on Tuesday (I think, I still don't know whether to go by weeks or the day of the month she was born). We went to the doctor last week for a checkup and the big 2 month shots :( She did great though, only cried for a few seconds!
She is a tall baby girl! She measured 23 1/2 inches which is in the 90th percentile. She weighed in at 10 lb. 10 oz which is in the 56th percentile. She would weigh a lot more if she didn't spit up all the time, poor girl! But even with all the spitup and poo poo problems, she is very healthy!
Here are her cute 2 month pics :)

She only lasts for a few short minutes in our photoshoots! I think the crying pics are cute though......is that mean?!?!

After her 2 month birthday, we went to Katy to visit the Bratchers and go to Ashley & Beckett's baby shower. We were very excited to introduce Kinley and Logan, I knew it would be so fun and it was! Logan loved having a baby around and I know Kinley loved her new best friend!

Here's the little baby girl and the big baby girl!

We of course had to do a mini photo shoot. I love this one because Kinley is staring at her thinking "I really like you new friend!"

She didn't so much like this part!

We had so much fun and are excited that in future trips to Houston, there will be THREE little ones around since baby Beckett will be here soon. And maybe soon some people around here can give Kinley some friends to play with (hint hint someone reading this that starts with an A and has blonde hair!)

Here is one more picture of that sweet, sweet smile!!!!! I could just eat her up!

I got to celebrate my first Mother's Day yesterday with my sweet baby girl! Although we've celebrated in the past with my doggie babies, this one was different :) It really made me stop and think about how much things have changed and how much we've adjusted since that scary, emotional day when we brought her home. Even after preparing throughout my whole pregnancy, reading books, having EVERYTHING in place for her arrival, google searching anything I thought about........I was still scared to death that day and felt like I had somehow forgotten every single thing I had learned. Turns out I was just extremely sleep deprived and that this was a very normal feeling for a new mommy! After a few days I became really proud of myself for how much I did know because of my thorough research :)

But, then there were those times that I had no idea what to do because NOBODY tells you about them! Mainly having to do with how much to feed her and when the heck do you know when you should up the amount they eat??!! I love how the doctors just say....."oh, she'll let ya know if she needs more" or......"oh, i would say you could up it after a few weeks, but maybe not.......just watch her to see". Really?!?! That is not an answer! There should be an exact rule for how much you feed a baby. There is a formula I found to follow but even it isn't exact.

Even now that I've somewhat figured out how much to give her, I still don't know if its enough, too much or when to increase it again.....but we'll get through it!

And let's not forget all the people who give you advice or judge your parenting.....when you didn't ask them for their opinion at all! The biggest pet peeve of mine now is when people act as if I'm stupid for trying to follow some ideas that books have taught me, like babywise or happiest baby on the block. They roll their eyes like they know everything and act like you're abusing your child or something...... really people, its just a schedule and some shushing to help your baby when theyre screaming and pissed!. Why wouldn't I try something out to help my baby sleep through the night or stop screaming? I bet your kid kept you up all night for a whole year & screamed all day! Sorry if people have figured something out that works and just because you didn't do it, doesn't mean its stupid........maybe youre just stupid!!

Aaaah, that feels better! That's what I would like to have said to those people but instead I just change the subject :)

I guess this turned into a venting session, sorry!

On a more positive note, Mother's Day also made me realize how lucky I am to be this precious, sweet baby girls mommy:) She is changing so much every day and while I enjoyed having a newborn, I am really loving watching her become a more alert, active and talkative baby......and the smiling is absolutely the BEST!!! Its the most amazing thing I've ever seen!

So while I still try to figure everything out and block out those "know it all" people, I'll remember that she's doing great so far and surely we can't mess her up too bad now! haha!

I love this sweet little chicken! (That's what daddy and I call her, it just came out one day and stuck!)
